Dr. Richard was born and raised in Dearborn, Michigan. He attended the
University of
Michigan-Dearborn as an undergraduate and graduated from The University
of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1993.Upon
graduation from dental school, Dr. Richard served three years as a
dental officer in the U.S. Navy. He completed a one year general
practice residency at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton in 1994. Over the
next two years he practiced general dentistry at various naval stations
including Pt Mugu Naval Air Weapons Station in Oxnard, California and
Roosevelt Roads Naval Base in Puerto Rico.
Dr. Richard then completed a one year fellowship in anesthesiology at
the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, completing this
training in 1997. From 1997 through 2001, Dr. Richard completed his
oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Thomas Jefferson University
Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Richard then fulfilled his
military obligation as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, first by
serving as a staff surgeon at the Naval Training Center in Great Lakes,
Illinois. Dr. Richard served his last two years in the U.S. Navy as the
oral and maxillofacial surgery department head at the U.S. Naval
Hospital Guam. He joined our practice in July of 2006.
Dr. Richard is board certified in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He is
a member of multiple professional organizations including:

Dr. Richard is married and has four children. He and his wife Protima Richard live in Lakewood, Illinois. He enjoys most athletic activities, travel, and spending time with his family.
